The Outlaw Trail Theater is scheduled to open their summer 2017 show on Monday, June 19, 2017… and run through Saturday, July 1, 2017 – with no shows on Sunday. Showtime is 8 PM every night!
Auditions are scheduled in April and rehearsals will begin on May1.
We thank you so much for your talent and your willingness to prepare and put yourself through that extremely difficult process. Unfortunately, not everyone that auditioned was selected. If you didn’t make it, don’t be discouraged. There will be other opportunities to audition and you are sure to find your role if you continue to work hard. We so wish that everyone could be in the show, but it’s not financially or strategically possible. Thank you again.
If your name appears on the list, it is critical that you fill out the following response form to let us know if you accept the role you are being offered… or decline it. Be sure to click “Submit” after you fill in the information.
If your name does not appear on the list, please accept our apologies and our thanks.
REHEARSALS: REHEARSALS WILL BEGIN MONDAY, MAY 2ND AT 7 PM IN THE ICE RINK. WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING. WARM CLOTHING IS A MUST–AT LEAST BRING A SWEATER, JACKET, HOODIE AND/OR A BLANKET. IF THESE THINGS ARE AVAILABLE, AT LEAST IN YOUR CAR, YOU WON’T BE HALF FROZEN AFTER 3 HOURS OF REHEARSAL. A NOTEBOOK AND PENCIL WILL BE VERY HANDY. YOU MAY ALSO BRING A CAMP OR LAWN CHAIR TO SIT ON DURING REHEARSALS. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE, OR ABSENT, PLEASE LET OUR STAGE MANAGER, KNOW THE DETAILS. SHE WILL KEEP TRACK OF ALL OF THAT STUFF.
The announcement of the Outlaw Trail Theater’s show for summer 2015 is going to be delayed. We plan to announce it tonight at the performance of BYU’s International Folk Dance Ensemble at the Vernal Middle School, 7:30 PM.
Everything is lining up to make the announcement at that time.
The good news is that the instant that the approval comes through–we’ll hit Facebook and the web with everything we’ve got to let everyone know. The other good thing is that auditions won’t happen until the end of April so a few days won’t make much of a difference.
We know that there are a lot of you that are anxious to find out–and we’re just as anxious to tell everyone! So–wish us luck, keep calm and hopefully it will happen very soon.
Thanks, everybody, for your support. We can’t wait to see you at Western Park!
Follow the above link to learn about the proposition to renew Uintah County’s ZAP (Zoo, Arts & Parks Tax). This sales tax rate of 1/10 of 1 % has existed since 1996 and mainly keeps the Western Park complex in operation.
It must be renewed every ten years and will be on the ballot on Nov. 4, 2014
As a big part of that, to us (the Uintah Arts Council & Outlaw Trail Theater), it provides a venue for performances, rehearsal space, costume storage, dressing rooms and storage space for the Outlaw Trail Theater. If the ZAP tax is not renewed, the Outlaw Trail Theater could be essentially out of business.
Of course there is also the Ice Skating Arena, the Uintah County Fair, the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, bull riding, many equestrian events and facilities, etc.. No, the new conference center that is under construction will not take over and replace everything that happens at Western Park… it will definitely provide some community benefits, but we still need Western Park for many, many activities.
Please vote “FOR” the proposition on November 4, 2014.
To put it in perspective, if you buy $300.00 worth of groceries at the grocery store, $.30 (30 cents) will go to the ZAP tax.
Please pass this on and encourage everyone to understand what the ZAP tax is and what it’s used for.
Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday… that’s it! The Outlaw Trail Theater production of Les Misérables is going wonderfully! If you haven’t been to see it yet… there is still time, and there are still plenty of seats available. Rave reviews have been coming in about how fantastic the production is… and how wonderful the cast is. Don’t let this opportunity slip by… get online and get your tickets right now… either right here from this website, or go to http://lesmisvernal.brownpapertickets.com. If you buy online in advance (before 6 pm on the night of the show) or stop by the Uintah County Heritage Museum at 155 East Main in Vernal (again, before 6 pm) you will save $1 per ticket. Otherwise, you can get them right at the box office before the show. Outlaw Trail Amphitheater, 302 E 200 S, Vernal, UT 8 PM Call 888-240-2080 with questions. See you there!
As we’re getting down to the wire now, we’ll probably have daily posts.
Where else could you see a production of LES MISÉRABLES like this one? We have a cast of 67 fabulous singers, a staff of nearly 30 that helps put the show on every night… or helped get it on stage. We have fresh air, green grass, open skies and a wonderful play. LES MISÉRABLES has become the most popular play in the world… and you can see it right here in rural, Vernal, Utah. And a ticket for this show costs about 1/3 of what the gasoline would cost you to drive to SLC, one way.
The crowds have been good and very, very responsive and appreciative, but don’t let your chance to see it slip away. It will run tonight(Monday), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday this week… and then it’s gone. There is NO show on Friday, July 4th. Tickets are very easy to get online, either through this website (OutlawTrailTheater.com) or go to http://lesmisvernal.brownpapertickets.com . If you really need to get your hands on a physical ticket, you can visit the Uintah County Heritage Museum in Vernal at 155 East Main Street, and they will help you get a ticket, especially if you’re not comfortable using the internet. As always, you can walk up to the box office in the amphitheater at Western Park and buy your tickets right there.
Right now, go get tickets, mark your calendar, set an alarm and make your plans to get to Western Park and see LES MISÉRABLES… before you miss it. You will be very, very glad you did!
